National Space Internship & Research Fellowship

Overview

The National Space Internship & Research Fellowship gives students the chance to work on real questions in space science and technology under the guidance of experienced mentors. It is intended for students ready to move beyond coursework and take their first steps in research.

Interns and fellows are matched with space scientists and industry experts, who guide them through a defined project from first question to final result.

What participants do

• Receive regular mentorship: guidance on methods, reading, analysis and how to present findings.
• Learn how research is done: planning, keeping records, reviewing literature, analysing data and writing up results.
• Present their work at the end of the placement.

What participants gain

• Practical research experience in space science or space technology
• A working relationship with a mentor in the field
• A completed project that can support further study or career applications
