Overview

Space is one of the most effective ways to spark interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). This programme helps teachers bring modern space science into their classrooms in ways that fit the curriculum they already teach.

Training sessions combine up-to-date subject knowledge with practical classroom methods.

What the training covers

  • Current space science: recent missions, discoveries and technologies, explained for teachers rather than specialists.
  • Linking space to the curriculum: using space examples to teach existing topics in physics, mathematics, geography and other subjects.
  • Classroom activities: low-cost, hands-on activities and demonstrations that teachers can run with their own students.
  • Resources: ways to find reliable images, data and teaching material.

What educators gain

  • Confidence teaching space science topics
  • Ready-to-use activities and lesson ideas
  • Contact with other teachers through the Federation’s educator network
